ANSWER TO LONELINESS

With the Comforter, the Holy Spirit ever present in our lives we are never alone.

"God sets the solitary in families"  ( Psalm 68 v6)

"A Father to the fatherless, a defender of widows" (Psalm 68 v5)

Not only has He promised never to leave us,  

“I will never leave you nor forsake you”  (Hebrews 13 v5)

but He also understands us like no-one else can

“Did not He who made me in the womb make them?” (Job 31 v15)

“For the Word of God (Jesus) is living and powerful…..and is a a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart and there is no creature hidden from His sight” (Hebrews 4 v12-13)

We can trust Him with our most personal hopes, dreams, secrets and fears..  We also find that we suddenly have the most amazingly strong love for others and a bond with those that have also taken the step of baptism and receiving the Holy Spirit. We have a wonderful sense of belonging to a loving power-filled family “……our Lord Jesus Christ from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named” (Eph 3 v 14-15)

A friend of ours who had emigrated to NZ with her husband and young children, had spent the first 2 years here extremely lonely and homesick.  She came into contact with members of the Kerikeri Christian Assembly, got baptised, received the Holy Spirit and Immediately ceased to be homesick.

He promises to make His home with us if we do His word

“If anyone loves Me he will keep My word and My Father will love him and We will come to him and make Our home with him” (John 14 v23)
